  1. What is Klorofil Collaboration Project? The Klorofil Collaboration Project ("Klorofil") is an open source initiative through which the Klorofil community and industry partners will be invited to build open source software that can ease the development and deployment of enterprise-level PHP applications.
  2. What is Klorofil Platform? Klorofil Platform is the first software developed by Klorofil Collaboration Project ("Klorofil"). It is a PHP-based programming platform. It is built to "empower" PHP so that the language can be easily used to develop robust enterprise-class applications. Here are some features of Klorofil Platform:
    • GUI framework for developing desktop applications based on PHP
    • Web application framework (MVC, Model-View-Controller)
    • Distributed computing
  3. What is gambArt? gambArt is a GUI framework for developing desktop application based on PHP. The framework was built with cross-platform in mind. gambArt was built from scratch without using any existing GUI framework.
  4. Do Klorofil develop software other than Klorofil Platform? Currently, Klorofil only develop 1 project: Klorofil Platform. In the future, we will add more projects that have relation with Klorofil Platform.
  5. How is the future of Klorofil Platform? Saltanera use Klorofil Platform to develop its Business Process Management System suite. It means Saltanera will constantly improve the platform. This will be an advantage for people using Klorofil Platform because the platform is built for enterprise-class application.

  7. Why do we need Klorofil Platform? The advantages of Klorofil Platform are:
    • Fast
    • Cross Platform
    • Reliable
    • Scalable
    • Object Oriented
    • Can be used both for web and desktop application development
  8. Does the Klorofil Platform ship with GUI designer for gambArt? Currently, we don't ship gambArt GUI designer along with Klorofil Platform. The GUI designer is still in development phase. It isn't mature enough to be bundled with current release of the platform.
  9. Why is it called Klorofil?We use Klorofil (Chlorophyll) as part of our collaboration project name because the spirit of the project is to add more "energy" to PHP. It resembles the function of Chlorophyll for the plant.
  10. Who wrote Klorofil Platform? Who is the inventor of Klorofil Platform? Klorofil is initiated by Saltanera R&D division. The leader of the project is our CTO, Denny.
  11. Why do you build Klorofil Platform based on PHP? The reasons are:
    • PHP is a very popular and widely used programming language
    • PHP is easy to learn programming language
    • PHP is freely available from PHP Project
  12. What is the mission of this site? The mission of this site is to promote and be a place for collaborating in the development of the Klorofil Platform.
  13. What is Saltanera's role in this site? Saltanera is the initiator of Klorofil Collaboration Project. Saltanera started the project by donating 100% of Klorofil Platform to the open source community. Although Saltanera initiated the project, in the future we hope the direction of the site will be controlled by the community.
  14. Why is Saltanera open sourcing the Klorofil Platform? We open source the Klorofil Platform in order to boost the speed its development.
  15. Is there any cost for using, modifying, or distributing the Klorofil Platform source code? No. The Klorofil Platform source code is free to use, free to modify and free to redistribute under the terms of Common Public License version 1.0.
  16. What can my company do to help support Klorofil Collaboration Project? There are many ways your company can do to support Klorofil Collaboration Project. You can contribute through submitting source code, documentation, article, etc.
  17. How can I contribute to Klorofil Platform source code or documentation? We're still trying to find the best way for Developers to contribute to the development of the Klorofil Platform in a way that won't raise Intellectual Property problems.   18. What is the difference between gambArt and PHP-GTK? PHP-GTK provides wrapper functions to a GUI framework (GTK library). On the other hand, gambArt is a GUI framework that was written from scratch without using another GUI framework. The functionality of gambArt and GTK are quite similar.
